Learn about Linking Verbs
In this Turtle Diary lesson, students learn about linking verbs in a game. Linking verbs don't express action. Linking verbs connect a subject of the verb to more information about that subject. The verb am, is and was are forms of the word be and are linking verbs. Other common linking verbs include: become, seem, feel, appear and sounds. Learning about the different types of verbs is one aspect of language arts. Students with advanced language arts skills are better readers, writers and speakers. In addition, students with advanced language arts skill tend to perform better in all learning disciplines.
