Compound Words
A compound word is a word when two or more words are combined to form a new word. We can form compound words by combining two or more words. For example, a farmhouse is a compound word that is formed by combining two words 'farm' and 'house' and it means a house attached to a farm.
Some more compound words are given below:
Example:
1. Moon and Light:
These are two words 'moon' and 'light'. If we combine these two words together, it becomes a new word 'moonlight'.
2. News and Paper:
These are two words 'news' and 'paper'. If we combine these two words together, it becomes a new word 'newspaper'.
3. Sun and Light:
These are two words 'sun' and 'light'. If we combine these two words together, it becomes a new word 'sunlight'.
4. After and Noon:
These are two words 'after' and 'noon'. If we combine these two words together, it becomes a new word 'afternoon'.
5. Motor and Car:
These are two words 'motor' and 'car'. If we combine these two words together, it becomes a new word 'motorcar'.
